PROGRAMMES - PALS (Promoting Amputee Life Skills)

The PALS (Promoting Amputee Life Skills) program is a once a week program taking place in a group setting. People work together to learn and practice self-management skills such as problem solving. The program focuses on recognising individual strengths, setting goals, and putting together an action plan to achieve these goals.

PALS is the result of a national study in the US,  involving Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, the University of Washington, Seattle, and the Amputee Coalition of America.

The PALS program will be developed for use in Canada in the near future with the collaboration of  John Hopkins University and the Amputee Coalition of America.
